Parole Board Writing Campaign
Writing a letter to the Massachusetts Parole Board will have a huge impact. Each letter will have its own impact on keeping George "Chris" MacNeill in jail and changing the law. Anyone residing anywhere can write a letter. Both faxed and mailed letters are best because the Parole Board will be considering them while they are making their decision. Community letters WILL be accepted! Please mail them ASAP.
Letters must Include Prisoner Name and Offender Number:
Name: George Christopher MacNeill Offender Number: W39496
Letter Guidelines and Suggestions:
If you did not know Bonnie or a member of her family but would like to offer you support, and express your opinion on releasing murderers like MacNeil out on parole, when there was never to be a possibility of that when he was sentenced, write a letter telling the Parole Board your feelings and the impact you think it will have on Bonnie's family.
If you knew Bonnie, or are a member of her family, these guidelines will help:
Include a description of Bonnie's life before the crime, her age, accomplishments and plans for the future.
Provide a list of people left behind by the crime, their relationship to her, impact of the loss on their lives, personal loss, monetary loss, therapy required, etc.
Detail the circumstances of the crime and its heinousness.
Describe the impact that the Chris MacNeill's parole would have on your family (fear for personal safety, make clear any knowledge the perpetrator might have of the family.
Tell the parole board as much as you can about Chris MacNeill. (How he had a prior relationship with Bonnie and what that consisted of, and any personal experience with their relationship).
Parole Restrictions - Ask for parole eligibility to be deferred for the maximum amount allowed in your state if this parole is denied. If MacNeill is paroled, ask for restrictions to be placed on his parole that will keep him from entering the proximity of any survivors.
Sign the letter and have a return address so the parole board knows you are a real person and not a mass mailing.
